#6. Black Sabbath - Slapback (Demo/Outtake)

Slapback is a previously unreleased song recorded in 1979 in pre-production rehearsals for the album Heaven and Hell (1980). It was leaked on March 5, 2021 by Gary Rees, stepson of keyboardist Geoff Nicholls, who found it on a cassette along with other recording tapes of the album's compositions in 1979. Geezer Butler first confirmed the leak of this song, also assuring that it was he who played the bass. Asked in an interview with SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" on Monday (March 8) if he knew anything about this purportedly unreleased tune, Butler said: "Yeah, that was one of the songs that we did before I left," referring to the fact that he exited SABBATH for a short time during the "Heaven And Hell" sessions while he was dealing with some personal issues. "It's probably the reason I did leave. [Laughs] It was just one of those songs that didn't make the grade." Asked if he in fact played bass on the recording th...

#4. Black Sabbath - What's the Use (Bonus Track)

What's the Use is a bonus track that appears on the Japan edition of the album Cross Purposes (1994). A small peculiarity of this song is that the main riff is reminiscent of the song Rusty Cage  (1991) by Soundgarden. Listen: Lyrics: What's the use of paradise Or everyday of livin' They spend and learn in heaven, sin in hell What's the point of children When evil got before them They learn in every tale we tell There's no point in being kind What's the use when love becomes an evil of the mind Oh yeah! What's the use of power When the battle isn't equal And we're all too scared to use it anyway What's the point of reason When no one wants to listen Deliverance is all too far away There's no point in being kind What's the use when love becomes an evil of the mind Oh yeah! Ooh what's the use There's no point in being kind What's the use when love becomes an evil of the mind Oh yeah! Ooh what's the use Tell me ooh what...

Heroes , also known as Heroes of the Night , is a bonus track that appears exclusively on the vinyl edition of the album Survive (2022). However, the "Heroes of the night" chorus does come from the Heroes of the Revolution Renaissance version. Note: earMUSIC claimed the video I uploaded to YouTube and they deleted it. So I'll upload the video here. — Listen: Lyrics: What does it take To be fearless, bold and brave? (You) risk your life to make This modern world a better place All the pain That your tired eyes have seen Made you strong And now you're spitting danger in the face You hold your head up high You won't give up the fight You lead me to the flame Our heroes of the night [Chorus] You guide us out of the dark You're the light A flame so bright Our heroes of the night! [2x] How do you feel When you carry all the weight? How do yo...
